Title: Senior Equine Therapist
Doug Hannum is an exceptional horseman with over 30 years experience. Hannum started with horses as a professional groom; soon he began training Jumpers for the late Mrs. Hewitt on the A Hunter Jumper circuit. Hannum and Hewitt saw the need for a drug free method of caring for their performance horses. Equine therapy became a natural evolution for his talents. Hannum has a natural gift for gently touching the horses legs and body to find abnormalities, and discomfort and a trainers eye for soundness. With Mrs. Hewitts help, the Equine Therapy and Rehabilitation Center was born 10 years ago. Now Hannum travels the world with the United States Equestrian Team (USET) working with Olympic athletes as part of the team that keeps these horses showing. When Hannum is not traveling he is Senior Equine Therapist at The Nottingham Equine Therapy Center.*
